Sites Awarded in Clocolan

On the 20th of February the Department of Housing awarded sites to qualifying people in the Clocolan area. This followed the bidding that was done earlier by this department from Setsoto Local Municipality to award sites. And they were given to those who met the qualifying criteria.


International Cross Border Race

Over the weekend the Free State Cycling hosted international cross border race in conjunction with the Lesotho country. The race took three days from Friday until Sunday. The race was attended by office of the minister in Lesotho and department of sports, as well as Free State department of sports and officials.

The race started from Ficksburg to Maseru and about 60 cyclists participated in the race. And on Sunday afternoon the race was ended with a small ceremony where the MEC for Sports Mathabo Leeto gave a speech and handed over the prizes to the winning people.

“This is a very good initiative and we hope that this event will be annually and grow every year, and especially when two countries are working together. We will strive our best to outsource funds and invite companies to invest in this event.” Said MEC.

DUTIES:
Participate in the intergrated Development Planning processes in order to understand the municipality’s service delivery objectives. Participate in the drawing of public participation strategy and implementation plan and ensure to avoid specific risk factors and forwarding to the manager for perusal and comment, Discussing and prioritizing programmed public participation initiatives, verifying resources allocations and execution procedures. Arranging the ward committee, attending and taking minutes. Organising community meetings together with Councillors and attend. Receiving reports from ward Commitees. Compiling the report to COGTA. Checking and commenting on the adequacy of budgetary provisions to support public Participation Programmes and monitoring expenditure and payment to services providers.
