POSITION: PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO THE EXECUTIVE MAYOR
UNIT: FICKSBURG
SALARY: R 267 588.41 P/L (4/3)

REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12 plus any other formal post matric qualification will serve as an advantage. Candidate must have at least 3 years experience in Government in respect of administrative duties. Sound knowledge of Local Government Policies and Procedures is key with good communication, negotiation skills, interpersonal skills, time management and knowledge of Microsoft office package (Computer Skills). Candidate must be trustworthy and have a basic knowledge of how to deal with confidential information. He/she must have sound judgement on matters that are sensitive and have the ability to deal with the issues responsibly. Candidate must also have an ability to communicate in at least three (3) South African official languages preferably English, Sesotho and Afrikaans.

DUTIES
Co-ordinating, Managing and Syncing the Diary of the Executive Mayor. Co-ordinate Travelling Itenarary of the Executive Mayor and make necessary travelling and accommodation arrangements timeously. Controlling access to the Executive Mayor through screening of calls and visitors and directing them to the relevant departments to be assisted. Co-ordinate and Control incoming and outgoing correspondence and circulate to relevant departments/sectors. Maintain a comprehensive filing system in the Office of the Executive Mayor. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as well as other spheres of government at both provincial and national level, on issues relevant to the Office of the Executive Mayor. Co-ordinate Mayoral Campaigns, Programmes and Activities with the Office of the Municipal Manager and facilitate all administrative duties within the Office of the Executive Mayor. Advise the Executive Mayor on matters of interest in respect of Council. Manage the resouces, including finance, administration, systems, personnel, equipment and other resources within the Office of the Mayor. Facilitate and co-ordinate activities between Members of the Mayoral Committee, Municipal Manager, Head of Departments, other members of Management, as well as other internal and external stakeholders. Compile and Submit relevant reports necessary for reporting purposes for the Office of the Mayor.
