Setsoto Implements Valve Management as Water Crisis Looms
The Community of Ficksburg/Megheleng is hereby kindly informed that the Municipality is once again faced with water crisis and this has unfortunately compelled the municipality to implement strict valve management with immediate effect.
This valve management implementation is informed by the critical levels of water in both Caledon River and Meulspruit Dam. As it stands currently both raw water sources are at 39% and regrettably that amount cannot handle the current demand.
To try to curb the situation, the Municipality has implemented valve management with reservoirs being opened at 05h00 to 08h00 (Morning) and again 17h00 to 20h00 (Night).
The community is sensitized that restrictions will go on until water levels are healthy again and that is when enough rain is received.
Please also note this measure is implemented solely to save available water and if the situation worsens, more restrictions will be implemented.
The Municipality would like to apologizes for the inconvenience caused by the situation.
