SALARY: R 253 753.50 per annum PL 5

REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12, plus three (3) years qualification in Occupational Health and Safety. Three (3) years relevant experience in Occupational Health and Safety. Registration with professional body (OHS). Good knowledge and application of the OHS and regulations. Demonstrate high level of problem solving and people management capabilities. Demonstrate high level of effective communication and team capabilities skills, No criminal record of any kind, Computer literacy and Drivers license (Code EB).

DUTIES:
Report to management on the status of Occupational Health and Safety programmes. Develop and implement Occupational Health and Safety systems, including policies, procedures and manuals. Make sure that an organization is aware of, and complies with all legislations relating to its duties, workplace activities and the use of its plants, equipments and substances. Promote Occupational Health and Safety within an organization and develop safer and healthier ways of working. Inspect workplace and equipments, to ensure it meets safety regulations and to identify harzards and risks. Ensure that workplace conform with organizational procedures and safety standards and also work with engineers and other professionals to ensure the safety of worksites and work practices.

REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12, Public Relations qualification will be an added advantage. Candidate must have at least 1-3 years relevant experience in public participation. Knowledge of Local community culture, needs, and problem solving mechanisms will also serve as an added advantage. Good communication and negotiation skills, interpersonal skills, time management and knowledge of Microsoft office package (Computer Skills). Candidate must be trustworthy and knows the how to keep confidential documents. Ability to communicate in atleast three (3) South African official languages preferably English, Sesotho and Afrikaans. Candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.

DUTIES:
Participate in the intergrated Development Planning processes in order to understand the municipality’s service delivery objectives. Compiling of ward profiles and ward based planning. Participate in the drawing of public participation strategy and implementation plan and ensure to avoid specific risk factors and forwarding to the manager for perusal and comment, Discussing and prioritizing programmed public participation initiatives, verifying resources allocations and execution procedures. Arranging the ward committee, attending meetings and taking minutes. Organising community meetings together with Councillors and attend. Receiving reports from ward Commitees. Compiling the report to Speaker, Council and COGTA. Checking and commenting on the adequacy of budgetary provisions to support public Participation Programmes and monitoring expenditure and payment to services providers.

Assist in planning processes and implementation of gender projects. Co-ordinate gender , women, children and disability programmes throughout Setsoto Municipality. Act as link , liason between the municipality and vulnerable group. Maintain an overview of resource availability for the gender projects at all times. Provide research support appropriate to capture latest developments in health care. Maintain high level relationships with Non- Governmental Organisation (NGO’s), CBO’s stakeholder’s engagement and team work. Work with enthusiastic with the vulnerable populations particularly the disabled and children.
